Matariki Festival

The Featherston community found it difficult during COVID lockdowns. Matariki in the winter of 2020 seemed like the perfect opportunity to create new community connections and memories. This 2020 programme helped inspire the future Featherston Matariki Festivals which have been run by the community.
Matariki during COVID inspired true CLD Matariki in 2022 with many groups working together to achieve smorgasbord of super-local events.
Fab Feathy provided a continued, 3-year long development journey from a more executive/event management role, to then vacate that space and let the community groups step in to flourish. Continued succession of support and linking up people and groups over the years was very successful.
